Disappointing stay.
No Becky, we thought we'd just stand here with our suitcases at 6 o'clock in the evening after a nine hour drive, for a bit of a lark.
I believe she did thank my husband for being a Diamond member, although I couldn't be sure since it was hard to hear much of anything she said, above the yelling from the obscene amount of teenagers milling around. So much for our quiet night away.
No apology for the chaos, let alone an explanation from Becky as to why the hotel was overrun. We had to find out for ourselves that there was a 'Bible Group' staying. My husband was coming down with a cold and asked if we could possibly get two beds instead of the king we had booked?
"No," said Becky, without even bothering to check.
Sigh.
After waiting for several elevators, which quickly filled up with hoards of raucous teens, we finally made it to our room on the second floor, with a view...of a crane.
I was about ready to simply leave, but my husband went back down to the front desk, and we were given a room on the top floor with a (very) partial view of the Capitol. The noise from the large group in the atrium penetrated the lounge area of the room, and from the bedroom, you could hear the people next door, which wasn't ideal considering their loud activities.
The couch was comfy, if rather unsightly with stains and a twelve inch rip in it. (See photos)
Housekeeping did a nice job considering what they had to work with. The rooms were clean, if a bit shabby. Breakfast was nice, and so were the breakfast ladies. The worst part of the stay was the complete and utter takeover of the hotel by the enormous 'Bible group'. They had absolutely ZERO consideration for other guests staying at the hotel and let their kids run wild, chasing each other from floor to floor, yelling and screeching. To top this off, they left the doors to their meeting in the conference room (right off the breakfast area) wide open so that during and after breakfast, we all had to endure their obnoxious, blaring music, singing and rowdy get-together. Their behavior was not the fault of the hotel, however management could have required them to close the doors to limit their intrusion on other paying guests who were TRYING to enjoy their breakfast.
Overall a very disappointing stay.

My sincere apologies for the poor service upon your arrival and for the inconsiderate guests who interrupted the comfort of your stay. I completely understand your frustrations and share them. We do our best to advise all our guests of hotel etiquette in an effort to provide everyone with a quiet and comfortable stay. I will be addressing these areas with our entire team to improve the guest experience. Your experience is not indicative of our norm, so I hope that you will consider a return visit. Again, on behalf of our entire team – I offer my apologies.
Sincerely,
Neil Ruditsky
