Beautifully restored , comfortable and quiet

This restored country house was used by our company for an overnight stop on the Camino de Invierno. On the downside it is quite a long way from the Camino but , as part of the stay, a free pick up and return to the Camino was included. This worked very efficiently. The house is mainly stone walls and wooden floorboards. Very atmospheric. There is ample parking for those driving. Set in a small garden which would be nice in clear weather. We had booked a twin room but were given a room each with a jack and Jill shower . This meant we had plenty of space as there was a separate entrance 'hallway' with wardrobes. Dinner was available on request which was simple and rustic. A lovely open fire was lit just for us. The meal was good value and , when we came to checkout, discovered the wine was free! In terms of the surrounding area it looks like there is some nice walking. It is set in a pretty hamlet and there was a restaurant ( not tried) about 300 metres away. There was also a nice riverside area with pool ( summer only) . Breakfast was continental but we were given very fresh eggs. Wifi workd well. Would recommend and would stay again .

Hotel stay along Via de la Plata Camino walk

Excellent! Camino Ways arranged a stay here for us while walking along the Via de la Plata Camino to Santiago. The hotel is beautiful, and the meals and hospitality from Antonio and his wife exceeded our expectations - it was fantastic. The hotel is a remodeled country home - the remodel is excellent - old but refinished floors and high ceilings. Awesome location near rivers for recreation, and away from the city. Just a great experience all around. Would love to go again.

Peaceful old country house with excellent food

We stayed here for one night while walking the Camino. The house is beautiful and because one of us speaks fluent Spanish, we were able to gain an insight into the history of the building and the families who lived in it. The vegetarian lunch and the breakfast were both excellent.

Fantastic place

We value our stay at Casa Gorris because it is a beautiful house, at a very quiet spot - we could only hear birds, owls -, our room was big and clean, own bathroom, big and comfortable beds, a royal breakfast and a great host! What more can one need?
