The hotel is a ways out from the historic center, but the bus stops right in front of the hotel. Coming back, the bus doesn't return from the same location. The tourist office will tell you where. The staff was very kind and helpful. There is private parking behind the hotel. Would stay there again.

It would take little to raise it

The location, if you have to attend a fair, is very functional... but together with the availability of the staff at the reception are the only positive points of this structure. Entering you will come across steps covered with lisa carpet. I stayed 2 nights in room 202 which had the following characteristics:
- very noisy heating
- broken window curtain
- whitewashed walls a few years ago full of signs and modifications
- sink tap consumed by limestone
- toilet board cover that sticks to the board
- ceramic floor plinth finished and continued with a carpet one
- furniture completely uncoordinated with each other
Apparently clean but with the above features it becomes difficult to think that it is...
You could do better with little!

Poor service and cleaning, only positive reception

I do not know how we have 3 stars but I recommend you find more. The experience at this hotel was disappointing, apart from the reception staff, who were courteous and helpful. However, the rest of the staff were not professional. At the bar, the lady behind the counter reacted with an obvious gesture of boredom when I asked for coffee, so much so that I preferred to give up and look elsewhere. In addition, we requested to share two single beds and add blankets, but the service was extremely slow: it took a day and a half to fulfill such a simple request. Even the cleanliness left much to be desired.

Don't do it

Hotel Maxim is a 25 minute bus ride out of town and that bus is very busy. The reception is closed overnight and you need a code to get in. The carpets are worn, thread bare in places. The corridor leading to our room was narrow. The room had a card key slot covered over with masking tape, inside there is
more masking tape,
exposed fuse boxes at eye level
very old 3 round pin plug sockets, we needed an adapter for our adapters
No bedside table of any sort by the double beds on either side and no light/lamps of any sort by the bed.
the lamp on a dressing table didn't work
the bedding was very old and well worn but clean.
not enough warm bedding for the weather
tiny shabby ancient shower (bathroom had an ancient phone)
towels that were napkin material, not great for drying
no toiletries except a very basic soap
no beverages except water in a fridge that wasn't replaced on the 2nd day.
the floor wasn't clean, leaving us with dirty feet.
the stairs to a mezzanine level were very narrow and open style
the TV is small with poor reception and no English channels at all.
Breakfast is basic but edible and cutlery/crockery was clean
The receptionists are the only good thing about the place, they were both friendly and helpful with good English.

#porannoi!!!

I think it's one of the worst hotels I've stayed in my life...
To review it I want to start from the positive things:
1. The parking lot;
2. The position:
3. We only slept there one night!!
And now the rest:
A structure that apparently, entering, would not be bad except that ... just paid and taken pa key you discover that to go to the room you have to take the stairs because the elevator does not work (and this is the lesser evil!).
You arrive in rooms and the light does not work ... go down to the lobby and they come to put a makeshift light bulb (luminous style from Campo Santo).
Dirty, indecent walls, siphon present only in the bathroom (a piece of rust), in rooms a nauseating smell that you can not understand where it comes from, electrical system (omissis!), TV without antenna and then practically nothing can be seen, an absurd cold (except at night they turn on the central air conditioning - not adjustable in the room - and in the morning you wake up that seems to have been hit by a truck!!).
Under the rooms there is the restaurant and seems to have it in the room (noise of chairs and tables that seems there is a move in progress in the room).
If it wasn't for the fact that I only had to stay one night I would have changed hotels.
Personally, therefore, absolutely not recommended.
