Delightful

If you enjoy reading design and decor blogs, as do I, and are in to "shabby chic" and creatively used space and re-used items, this is an enjoyable, and delightfully decorated hotel,. I bet you will enjoy it. If you prefer big, faceless chain hotels with the standard amenities, this one is not for you.
The owner has done some really creative things with paint, vintage finds, and even folded books. As my husband said, "I really feel like i stayed somewhere special this time. " Some of the ideas are outstanding, and I'll be honest, I'll be copying them when I get home, especially the beautifully painted faux mural ceiling in the breakfast room.
The hotel is cute and atmospheric on the outside, and conveniently located in an attractive village near Flensburg, about a 15-20 minute drive through a lovely rural area with very little traffic. But the real attraction here is the awesome breakfast room/bar. I would move into it in a heartbeat. Kudos to whoever planned it out. And the breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. They even served several homemade jams.
Yes, our room (Jules Vern) was very small, but comfortable and efficient. I've stayed in smaller, and although this room had a draw-curtain in lieu of a bathroom door, we had looked at photos before we reserved the room, and we knew what to expect.
The price, the location (actually easier to get to than some of the central hotels), parking, eye candy decor to look at, all combined for a vastly superior experience than what we would have gotten at the hostel-y type hotels downtown, in my opinion.

Nice stay for the more eccentric visitor?

I stayed in one of the rooms outside at the back, Don Quixote and was fine. All materials used but functional and everything works. The kitchen is also well equipped and I was able to cook something myself because almost everything in the village was closed on Tuesdays

Definitely different!

We stayed at the Soruper Hof for two nights, and the hotel turned out to be one of a kind! It is located in Sörup, which is a small village out in the middle of nowhere. The hotel is painted strikingly blue and inside you find an enormous variety of styles ranging from new standard lamps from IKEA to antiquities and flea market items.
The room was large and clean and featured a nice bathroom. The breakfast is okay, but it is not served before 8 a.m., so if you are an early riser, it is a long wait.
For us, it was an okay experience, but we are probably not going back.

Very special design hotel

Fantastic friendly and service minded staff. Rooms very special interior. The only thing was that there were no door to the toilet and shower, not nice. Bed a bit hard.
Fantastic breakfast buffet. Not so much to do in the town and more or less only one restaurant.

Small and very nice hotel

My boss and I stayed over for one night at this art-hotel staying in rooms without numbers but having names of authors ;-) Rooms are not to big, but they have what is needed. Employees and the owner herself were very helpfull and service minded indeed. High speed wi-fi available. The breakfast was very nice too. We will definitely option for this hotel another time.
